Summer House of Lujza Blaha, Balatonfüred

Also known as the “the nation’s nightingale", Lujza Blaha was one the greatest classical actors of Hungary and the first permanent member of the National Theatre. Her Classicist style summer house was built in the 1860's and she purchased the property in 1893 after which she spent time here every summer for the next 23 years.

On the triangular pediment of the building, we can read the following: "This house was the favourite nest of the nation’s nightingale". Above: "The summer house of Lujza Blaha 1893-1916".

Today, the Hotel and Restaurant Lujza Blaha operates in the house.
