St. Cletus Church, Siófok

The only church in Hungary dedicated to St. Cletus was built in late Baroque style in 1802.

The namesake of the church and this district of Siófok was Pope Cletus, who was the third Bishop of Rome following Saint Peter around the end of the 1st century.

The 19th century church and the parish house built in 1812 are both protected monuments. In the garden of the church, there is a calvary built in 1855.

The building and its garden with the calvary was fully renovated in the first half of the 2000's. In 2004 the the sculpture "The Assumption of Mary" by Imre Varga was erected in the garden.
